The Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding  and The Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation are organised International Summer School “The History before the Court. International law and the study of the past”.

During the week of lectures and seminars, participants from Poland, Germany, Russia and Ukraine learned how to use a perspective of international law in historical assessments. International law was shown as a tool, supporting the work of historians, that facilitates the judgment of  historical events in a balanced manner, not based on mutually exclusive national interpretations.

Summer School helped in establishing personal contacts between young researchers from neighbouring countries, that have history full of mutual wars and conflicts. Lectures, workshops and seminars focuses on international law as a reference point, which is useful both for the historical disputes and necessary for the analysis of current events.
