The ROSczytani Open Literary Club

This is a place for lovers of books to interact with outstanding Russian writers. We meet authors in the casual atmosphere of the Big Book Cafe to discuss the Polish translations of their works. How does literature portray contemporary Russia? What stories and genres are making waves among Russian readers today? What do we Poles love in authors and stories from the East? If you’re fascinated by Russia or you feel you’d like to understand it better, if you like to read and to share the emotions reading inspires, the ROSczytani club is for you.

Each participant in the meetings will receive information in advance about the author and their books as well as a brief summary of the discussions. The guests will be outstanding contemporary Russian authors who work in various literary forms. Admission is free of charge and open to all. The meetings include interpretation into Russian.

The organizer of the club is the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding (the Centre); Big Book Cafe, the host, is a new literary centre. For more information about future meetings of this open literary club, please visit www.cprdip.pl and www.bigbookcafe.pl.
