The Holy See towards Russia and Eastern Christianity. From John Paul II to Pope Francis.

An international conference devoted to the Catholic-Orthodox dialogue, attended by eminent experts on the subject, was organized by the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding in cooperation with the Centre for the Thought of John Paul II on November 6-7, 2017 in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Speakers focused on the analysis of dialogue from the perspective of Poland and neighboring countries’ experiences, the role of Polish cultural heritage in this area, the political significance of the ecumenical dialogue and the remembrance of John Paul II's views on the subject and their reception in Russia.

The conference was attended by renowned personalities and experts from Poland, Italy, Russia and other countries, including Archbishop Józef Kowalczyk, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, Professor Mieczysław Marynowicz, Prime Minister Hanna Suchocka, and professor Andrey Zubov.
